We have all the "freedoms" that our slavery can pay for, in the rare moments we are not trying just to survive. We are now 3,000 times more populous than were our last self-sustaining and ecologically balanced clan/band living migratory Hunter-Gatherer ancestors just a few thousand years ago. Greeley, We certainly have reasons to feel deeply disturbed and discouraged about the ways many humans have responded to this crisis. Money and power are powerful motivators; tomorrow’s disasters seldom compete well with that. Nonetheless, if we succumb to feelings that our doom is inevitable, it becomes inevitable. We still have some time to rescue our species while also keeping the lights on. The main problem is that we must act very soon, like NOW! All of us have to push harder. We can do this, but only if we all begin to push in the same direction, and even then it will be very hard. We may fail, but I, for one, want to go down swinging if that’s our fate. —Ron
